The project is promoted by Healthcare Activos Inmobiliarios Group. The company, which has another centre in Galicia, has opted for this strategic location in the area of A Gándara, in Ferrol, to install this complex that will have a constructed area of 7,150 square metres, distributed over four floors above ground, ground floor and basement.
The architecture studio responsible for the project has been Serta Arquitectos S.L., a national reference firm with more than 35 years of experience in the development of architecture and engineering projects; with headquarters in Madrid and delegations in Mexico City and Buenos Aires.
The main contractor of the project is Ceteco Group (Centro Técnico de Construcciones), a construction company based in the town of Camponaraya in León, and responsible for various public and private works projects (residential, institutional, commercial, industrial, professional, cultural, socio-welfare, hospital, educational buildings, etc.).
The structure of the building has been executed in reinforced concrete, and the floors have been solved with the cast in situ solid slabs system. By using Peikko's PSB® anti-punch shear reinforcement system, it has been possible to optimize the thickness of the slabs to just 19 cm, complying with the regulatory requirements of the national Structural Code in force. This has led to considerable savings in terms of concrete and steel consumption, compared to other alternatives based on traditional reinforcement solutions with stirrups.
Peikko's PSB® system, certified and tested according to the European Technical Assessment ETA-13/0151, also allows a simple and efficient installation, which results in a significant reduction in costs and execution times.
