With Springvale’s enrolment growing from 1,300 to over 1,800 learners by 2024, the school needed an expanded facility to support large sporting events and learner engagement. Traditional construction posed logistical and safety risks in an active school environment. Peikko's response: a full-scope off-site prefabrication approach supported by its mechanical column connection technology.
The final pavilion design included, 120 m² of dedicated equipment storage, male and female change rooms and ablution facilities, Open-air precast seating panels with off-shutter finish and Precast stairways on either end for ease of access.
Peikko’s HPKM® Column Shoes and HPM® Anchor Bolts ensured precise alignment, fast installation, and future dismantlability. All structural elements were manufactured off-site, then delivered in just five truckloads. No scaffolding or bracing was required. Within 48 hours, the pavilion stood complete, astonishing the school’s management and professional team alike. The result is more than just speed. The controlled off-site production ensured consistent quality, reduced environmental impact, and eliminated safety concerns linked to on-site work. The project has since inspired a second pavilion order and has catalysed interest in modular infrastructure from schools and rural development partners.
