The building boasts many sought-after amenities such as a 24-hour fitness center, a lab, outdoor courtyard with grilling stations, collaboration and study spaces, as well as retail space on the 1st floor.
The Bridge on Forbes is a second partnership venture for Campus Advantage and Pinecrest, the developers of this project. The two companies have partnered in the past to develop a luxury student housing project- the Knox in Knoxville Tennessee.
Desmone Architects is the architectural firm for the project. Architecturally, DELTABEAM® was an excellent choice for this project since it permitted larger bay windows to maximize natural light into the units. DELTABEAM® also allowed for long spans and a slim floor system. In total, 600 DELTABEAM® composite beams were delivered to the job site, totaling 2.2 miles in length.
For Shawn Graham, PE, Vice President of Whitney, Bailey, Cox and Magnani, LLC (WBCM), the Engineer of Record (EOR), DELTABEAM® was a great structural solution for the project.
Mr. Graham noted, “We have had success as the Engineer of Record (EOR), specifying DELTABEAM® on some of the first projects to be constructed using this composite system in the United States. In our experience, the advantages of a slim floor structure, lower floor-to-floor heights, speed and ease of erection, and integrated fire-proofing all contribute to providing an economic structure”.
WBCM is not new to working with DELTABEAM®. They have worked with this structural solution on several projects in the past four years.
“We have a solid understanding of this system and how it interfaces with other design components of the structure, have a technical comfort level with DELTABEAM® and have developed an efficient working relationship with Peikko’s engineers. We are professionally registered and provide structural EOR services all over the United States and look forward to working with the DELTABEAM® system on future projects.” says Mr. Graham.
